A training course for qualified art psychotherapists will be starting in the Netherlands in the second half of 2014. After completion, the participants will be ready for deployment by the Hijman Degen Foundation in conflict or disaster areas to train local aid workers in the use of art therapy techniques. The resulting ripple effect will be enormous! After all, each locally trained aid worker will be able to share these techniques with others. This way, large numbers of people with psychotrauma can be reached and treated.
